App updates make reporting thefts quick and easy

Bosch has announced updates to its e-bike theft protection for bikes using its smart system and the latest version of the Flow app. These updates are aimed at making identification and reporting easier for the police.

For users of the Bosch smart system and Flow app, they will now be able to use the eBike pass. The Flow app is Bosch developed and pairs with its smart e-bike systems. It allows users to control and modify the system and includes setting alarms when the bike is locked, route planning and software updates.

The addition of eBike pass shows the owner important information about their bike including spec and component details. With the new revisions to the app, it is possible to add identifying features such as frame numbers, special features, and photos of the bike. This can be used with the police as well as with insurance companies.

In the event of a bike theft, users can easily generate a report from within the app. Users will then be guided through the process where they will be asked for further information on the theft including time and location as well as a description of the incident. Having all the necessary identification information will enable the police to identify the rightful owner of any stolen bikes more easily.

The report can then be emailed to the police or it can be saved as a PDF for when it is later required. This feature aims to reduce the time between the theft taking place and the reporting of the incident. It has been shown that there is a greater chance of finding the stolen bike the sooner it is reported to the police.

Updated navigation

The latest update to the Flow app gives the riders navigation control from the LED remote, mini remote, or Purion 200 display. This gives riders the ability to change the navigation destination without the need to remove a hand from the bars.

Along with this, the new updates allow for stops to be input on a ride by either tapping and holding the location on the map or by inputting the destination manually. In conjunction with this the app also now has elevation profiling within navigation to show how many climbs and descents remain on the route.
